Neuro Integration

A wonderful adjunct therapy used with Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy.

NeuroIntegration is the combination of Neurofeedback and Photic stimulation.

Dr Jolly

“Patient experiences have shown that using both therapies, Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT) and NeuroIntegration together, can have powerful results where other therapies alone failed.”

How does Neurofeedback work?

Neurofeedback works through a mechanism known as operant conditioning. When a part of the brain is operating at an abnormal frequency (too fast or too slow), the brain can learn to normalize the activity in that area.

The brain is a learning machine. If you tell it what it needs to do to be normal, and give it a reward for doing it, it can make less of the abnormal activity and more of the normal activity. As the brain gets better at making the normal activity, the threshold for getting a reward is raised. Eventually the brain gets so good at making the normal activity that it no longer needs the feedback, and is able to make the normal activity whenever it is required.

The mechanism is thought to be through reorganization of functional pathways in the brain. In addition, other brain areas not ordinarily involved in the given brain function may be recruited to take on the function of the dysfunctional area.

How does Photic Stimulation Work?

How does EEG-driven Photic stimulation improve training efficiency? It has long been known that one can train neuronal rhythms with flashing light. Using lights, one can train the neuronal assemblies in a synchronous fashion.

HBOT stimulates stem cells and neurons in the brain so the two therapies, Hyperbarics and NeuroIntegration have amazing results when used together.

Areas that are abnormally slow can be entrained to operate at a faster frequency. Areas that are abnormally fast can be entrained to operate at a slower (more normal) frequency. This entrainment is passive, and does not usually result in learning (unlike neurofeedback.) Photic cues from the NeuroIntegration system can guide the brain to the frequency it needs to learn, resulting in more efficient and quicker learning.

In addition, different colors of light can assist in this process, e.g., yellow is activating and encouraging the learning of faster frequencies. Other colors (e.g. Blue) are calming and encourage the learning of slower frequencies. The NeuroIntegration system is unique in combining the two technologies to achieve more rapid movement in mental states, and faster training. Typically, clients experience a significant shift in awareness, often after just one treatment!
